Often when guests come to Qianjie for coffee, they will ask us, what is Jensen Manor? Why have you never heard of it?
About Jensen Manor, this is actually a very powerful manor in Panama! Just because I have never entered the Chinese market before, I only do European and American markets, so I haven't heard much about it.
In 2004, the Peterson family of Panama first introduced the rose summer variety to everyone, and since then the international community has been crazy about it, calling it the champagne of the coffee world. The 2013 Panamanian Fine Coffee Association awarded the Panamanian Coffee Awards with a new finalist-Carl Jensen's Jensen Manor Rose Summer.
Jensen Manor in Panama was founded 80 years ago by Swiss Carl Jensen and his wife Margaret, and is still managed by the family Jensen. The manor is located in the Baru volcano producing area of Chiriki province, with an elevation of 1500 meters. The good natural environment and abundant precipitation brought by ocean currents, coupled with the fertile volcanic soil, make it an Eden that breeds fine coffee. Jensen Manor not only grows rose summer, but also produces high-quality Kaddura, Kaduai and Pacamara and so on.
The manor attaches great importance to environmental protection and sustainable development. Natural and pure mountain spring water is used for washing treatment, while sun treatment is also exquisite. Ripe coffee fruit will be put on a clean floor or drying bed for sun fermentation depending on different batches.
Balu volcano, also known as Chiriki, is located in the southeast extension of the Taramanca Mountains, 3477 meters above sea level, is the highest peak in Panama
The volcano is a dormant volcano, the last major eruption was around 500 AD, and there is some evidence of a small volcanic eruption near 1550.
Volcanic soil is the soil formed by volcanic eruptions, which contains volcanic ash, volcanic lava, and basalts. Volcanic soil is usually porous and permeable, and the lava in it is easy to weathering, coupled with the fine particles of volcanic ash. It is easily decomposed by microorganisms and is more easily used by plants than other rocky mountains.
In general, coffee grown in volcanic soil has a more balanced flavor, and higher elevations make it more layered. The study suggests that this may be because volcanic rocks contain high concentrations of sulfur and sulfides, which happen to be necessary for the synthesis of some aromatics, and potassium in volcanic soil can also increase the alcohol thickness of coffee.
However, it is interesting that coffee grown in non-volcanic soil has developed a unique and distinctive flavor because it has less sulfur and potassium, resulting in a more unbalanced overall flavor.
Jensen sun rose summer with bright yellow tropical fruit acidity, medium temperature reflected in peaches, papaya, honey and other soft and sweet characteristics, cool strong bergamot aroma and Darjeeling Earl tea flavor, so manifested in other Panamanian roses with raw beans of more than 1,000 yuan, Jason is a super "industry conscience".
