Santa Teresa

Growing coffee in Los Santos is a very common phenomenon that has spread among families for many years because it is a good source of income for individual and family progress.

I was born on November 19, 1963 (Roger Ulina Hidalgo), when my father started growing coffee, and so did my grandparents. Because I was a child, I had to help my father in his dairy farm and coffee plantation, while finishing my studies, I finished (high school). When I was 15, I started working in the coffee industry, using my income to make coffee seedbeds. That's when I started growing my first coffee plantation.

In 1987, I went to work in the United States, made money, and then went back to Costa Rica to expand my coffee plantation. But it wasn't until four years ago that I decided to make my own coffee and built a St. Teresa miniature coffee maker.

St. Teresa Farm, where the factory is located, was acquired about seven years ago. The varieties we grow are: Geisha, Sudan Rume, pacamara, Villalobos, Typica Mejorada, San Roque, and there are already Catuai coffee trees. The plantation began in 1900 AD. By 2050

This year's product is a geisha in honey processing, which helps the best characteristics of coffee shine on the cup. My eldest son, Alex Urina, helped me with the mill and the farm. Farms and factories are in the Blue Flag project in Costa Rica, and this is the third year of our neutral carbon certification process, which goes hand in hand with the environment.

These cherries were collected by Panamanian families, who have been harvesting them for several years. On the other hand, the labour required for coffee plantations is carried out with the help of Nicaraguans and Costa Ricans, so several families have benefited from this business.
