Sitio Bateia

Marcos Antonio Marcos Antonio Tomazini is a producer of exquisite washings from Patrimonio do Ouro, a street in Espiritu Santo, Espirito Santo, Brazil. The area has a mild tropical climate, ample rainfall and reaches 1200masl above sea level. Patrimonio do Ouro, which can be translated into a gold heritage, is famous for its rich gold and other precious metals. At the beginning of the 20th century, this attracted many businessmen to settle here.

Among these immigrant businessmen was an Italian, Tommaso Tomazini, the great-grandfather of Marcos. Tomazo settled in the area, but not to look for gold. He wants to be a coffee farmer and build a family legacy through coffee. Tomazo found a steep slope to grow his coffee. In those pioneering years, coffee was grown without agronomic guidance. So Tomazo used his wisdom to pass on what he had learned to his children. However, his great-grandchildren revolutionized the quality of the farm.

Sitio Bateia changed from commercial coffee to professional coffee in 2001. Marcos' brother Tomazini is an agronomist. He brought new Catuai seedlings to the farm and introduced new processing techniques. The two cups of coffee they harvested for the first time was one of the best in the state. They understand the potential of coffee. The farm still often wins awards for its high-quality coffee.

Sitio Bateia is one of the farms in the village of Espirito Santo. A project dedicated to providing the best specialty coffee in Espiritu Santo to roasters around the world. Sitio Bateia coffee is juicy, high acidity, full-bodied and pleasant. You can find lemons, berries, caramel, cocoa and herbs in the cup. This kind of coffee can easily be used as a special kind of coffee, or as a changer of mixed coffee.
