Fazenda Primavera

Farm history

Leo began to prepare to become a businessman. His grandfather, Aprigio Tavares, works today at the quality lab in Fazenda Primavera, where he brought the little boy to the bakery where plums have communicated since childhood. The family has been associated with coffee since its ancestors, Tavares, grew and commercialized coffee in MG's Ponte Nova. He and Leonardo's father, Ricardo Tavares, bought three Coracos in 1980. Grupo Montesanto Tavares was founded after the sale of 3Coracoes in 2000 and owns four coffee trading companies. Today, Leonardo, 34, is a young entrepreneur who runs the group's farm. His experience in logistics qualified him to take up the challenge of managing Fazenda Primavera, a 1027-hectare farm in Angelandia, Chapada de Minas District, Minas Gerais. In 2018, in his second year at the helm of the company, the farm won an award for excellence in natural pulping for a geisha coffee.

The Chapada de Minas area where the farm is located is mountainous, with vegetation mixed with Serrado and Atlantic forests, giving it a rich variety of biodiversity. Due to the high relative humidity, the climate is similar to that of Central America, and the soil is fertile, so the spring climate alternates between the dry period and the heavy rainfall period. Coffee is grown on both flat plateaus and rolling hills, with streams and rivers all over the farm. Coffee is also grown with mahogany trees, and coffee beans grown in the shade mature more slowly, giving it a unique sweet drink. Coffee is harvested mechanically when it is ripe and carefully processed on high-quality workstations. The farm's history shows its ability to repeat quality standards year after year. A good network team with many years of experience contributed to this result. The group is responsible for social projects in all its active coffee producing areas. There is a social project called Coffee Solidarity (Coffee Solidarity), which provides services for children and the elderly, offers dance, drama, fashion and art courses, and provides financial support for a nursing home in the area. The nearby farm has a project to promote life and health, covering the main objectives of providing medical services for about 100 families and farm workers in the area, organizing seminars on nutrition, vaccination, disease control, first aid, preventive activities, the health of the elderly and women.

Coffee processing system

Coffee is processed by natural methods. It was hand-picked by a woman. Then put it in a fermentor and put it on an African bed without rest. After drying for 20 days, the coffee is stored in the shell until the end of the game. Several batches of samples have been tested, but this one has its own characteristics.

Pay attention to quality

The mild climate, altitude and topography give coffee unique characteristics. But it is the post-harvest process and drying, strict quality and management that make Chunhua an excellent farm with very high standards and unparalleled taste of coffee.

Brazil ranked second in COE in 2019.
