Front Street-Columbia Coffee introduction

Located in the southwest of Colombia, facing the Pacific Ocean to the west, Cauca Province in Ward to the north, Tolima to the northeast, Vera to the east and Narino to the south, it is one of the important producing areas of Colombian boutique coffee.

Like other coffee-growing areas in southern Colombia, the dry season occurs mainly from July to September each year, followed by a concentrated coffee blossom season followed by the following year's concentrated coffee harvest season. Temperature changes during the day and night are crucial to the quality of coffee. The lower temperature at night, coupled with the relatively high altitude, reduces the ripening rhythm of coffee beans, giving them higher acidity and a very unique sweetness.

As one of the producers of Colombian boutique coffee beans, Cauca has a different side from most of the producing areas. Cauca is located in the Andes Mountains in south-central Colombia, 80% mountainous, with parallel mountain systems in the east and central, part of the Andes, the central mountain system includes two major volcanoes, Sotara and Petacas, and the Huila Mountain, which is covered with snow all the year round. Benefiting from volcanic dust, the soil in the producing area provides adequate nutrients for coffee growth.

The producing area also contains a plain about 1700m above sea level. High-quality boutique coffee is planted on the whole mountains and plains. Climate, rainy season, volcanic soil and other factors have a high homogeneity. A fixed rainfall cycle (the dry season from August to September is followed by Rain Water's abundant rainy season) provides favorable results for coffee trees. High-intensity sunshine and low rainfall coincide with the flowering season (July-August), when they also leave the equatorial windless zone, providing favorable flowering conditions for coffee trees. These factors also contributed to the concentrated harvest in the first quarter of the next year.

Compared with other coffee-growing areas in Colombia, the climate is more variable in the daytime temperature: the average daily temperature is as low as 11 degrees, and the average temperature during the day is 18 degrees (the average temperature at night is 4 degrees). This sharp temperature difference between day and night is a boost to the growth of Coca Coffee. The low night average temperature caused by high altitude slows down the ripening of coffee beans, improves the acidity and gives special sweetness. All these factors make Cauca one of the best producers of boutique coffee in Colombia.

The coffee from the high-quality Cauca region has a strong caramel aroma, floral aroma and sweetness, medium mellow, pure, mild and well-balanced taste, coupled with the typical mild taste of Colombia, which makes the coffee in the area a target sought after by many buyers.
