A brief introduction to the characteristics of Qianjie-Malawi Coffee
Coffee was grown in Malawi at the beginning of the nineteenth century. It is said that the first coffee tree in Malawi was made by John, an English missionary in 1878. Buchner brought it from the Edinburgh Botanical Gallery. Despite a good start to coffee cultivation in Malawi, the coffee industry in Malawi soon collapsed again due to poor soil, diseases and insect pests and competitive pressure from Brazil in the market.
The varieties of coffee grown in Malawi cover most of them and are very diverse. The very hot Rosa variety in Central and South America is also grown in Malawi. In spite of this, there are many low-quality, high-yield, disease-resistant varieties Katim grown in this country.
There are two main methods of coffee treatment in Malawi: tanning and washing. The plateau area in the north is relatively deficient in water resources, so the sun treatment is mostly used, while the water washing treatment is mostly used in the south.
