Located in the Rushashi producing area of northern Rwanda, another well-known name is Dukundekawa, which has achieved good results in cup testing competitions in previous years. The Musasha Cooperative was established in 2002 and has continued to produce high-quality washed Rwandan coffee since the establishment of the first washing treatment station funded by the authorities in 2003. Coffee in Rwanda is mainly produced by small farmers. Musasha Cooperative is one of the largest peasant associations in the country. at the beginning, it has 800 members, of which about 1/2 are women. The Musasha Cooperative now has three washing treatment stations, where farmers gather ripe coffee berries during the harvest each year to concentrate on the treatment station, first by hand to ensure that there are no immature or damaged fruits mixed in. Then remove the peel, wash and ferment in a cool and low temperature for 12 to 18 hours, then wash and dry the attached pulp in the channel. During the drying process of the scaffolding, the members of the treatment station will turn manually and take care of them carefully to ensure that the raw beans with shells will not lose moisture too quickly or dry unevenly in the sufficient sun, until the moisture content of raw beans drops steadily to less than 14%. In previous years, the cooperative regularly donated a certain proportion of profits to the fund used by the government to cultivate the domestic coffee industry, so as to set up more washing treatment stations and improve output and quality. in recent years, through the Coffee Assistance Program (PEARL's Coffee Program) in Europe and the United States, the production quality has been further improved and the high-quality coffee produced has been sold directly to the international boutique coffee market, thus significantly improving the income of coffee farmers.
