Introduction:

The Rivas processing farm is a micro-processing plant owned by the Mr. R é gulo Gerardo Ure ñ a Chacon family. He began to grow coffee 26 years ago. La Guaca in this area means that the local natives have buried a treasure but have not yet been found, so the name La Guaca is of deep historical and cultural significance. The Treasure Manor is located in the beautiful Branca producing area, between the two peaks of Cerro de la Muerte and Cerro Chirripo, the Cerro Chirripo Mountains are the highest peaks in Costa Rica. Coffee is grown in an area about 1600 meters above sea level, and the microclimate and geographical environment create high-quality coffee. Today, Mr. R é gulo and his wife Isabel, along with four children, Ricardo, Mario, Esteban, and Luis y Tatiana, began to use the water treatment plant Cafe Rivense del Chirripo S.A., because all coffee production in this small area uses 100% sun exposure. Regulo attaches great importance to the ecological environment, the original forest planting fruit trees shade, natural water resources and ecosystem conservation, wildlife conservation, won the relevant authorities' Ecological Blue Flag Award (the Ecologic Blue Flag award). Mr. R é gulo and his family were the first winners of the COE Cup in Branca, a burgeoning region. The family's own "Rivas people processing farm" not only handles its own raw beans, but also helps nearby estates to process raw beans.

Like most Costa Rican farmers, Riguro focused on berry production in the early days and sold it to processing plants near the town of Rivas. However, the collapse of international futures in 2000 seriously challenged the model on which he lived. Within a few years, the situation and even the development of the whole family fell into a huge crisis! At that time, in addition to abandoning coffee, only the road to boutique coffee production could be taken.

With no one to imitate and no international boutique buyer, Riguro decided to take the risk and invested tens of thousands of dollars in a set of micro honey processing (Micro-Mill) equipment, so that he could produce his own coffee beans and be promoted to a producer of "Micro-Lot" coffee. After years of efforts, he has gradually mastered many skills in producing honey and processing coffee, but "good beans also need the discerning eyes of good buyers", which is the huge bottleneck he faces later, so he actively participated in the COE cup competition until 2015, when he won the 33rd place in COE. Since then, the manor has really linked up with international boutique coffee buyers, such as Blue Bottle. And other boutique coffee of international traders fixed buyers.
