Ngerwe processing plant is located in Embu, the central Kenyan region, in the southern foothills of the Kenyan Mountains, about 1600 meters above sea level, about 120km southwest to the capital Nairobi. There are about 560 cooperative small farmers around, each with an average planting area of less than one hectare, about 200 coffee trees, belonging to garden planting.

A few years ago, the Ngerwe processing plant, together with four nearby processing plants, Kathakwa, Gikirima, Gicherori and Ndunduri, established a rather forward-looking farmers' cooperative called "Kibugu".

Apart from the unique SL28/SL34 varieties, another reason for the good flavor of Kenyan coffee is its excellent traditional treatment. although Kenya is located in the equatorial region, most of the coffee is grown above 1600 meters above sea level, with an average temperature of very low temperature. this makes the first stage of the washing fermentation process takes up to 72 hours (it usually takes only 24-48 hours in other countries), and the low temperature fermentation for a long time gives a brighter, cleaner and fuller flavor.

After drying, the elevated net bed is always used, which has the advantage of good ventilation and can avoid contact with the cement ground with high temperature in the sun, so the coffee beans can be dried evenly, the height of the net bed and the waist, and it is also convenient for farmers to select defective beans. Kenya is the first country in the world to use elevated net beds, so elevated net beds are also known as "Kenya Bed". No7_ Kenya AA_ Engwe processing plant.

Whenever the harvest season comes, batches of dried beans with shells will fill the warehouse, waiting for the next NCE bidding. The processing plant will send the shell beans to the bidding agent for shelling / selection and wait for the NCE bidding meeting (Nairobi Coffee Exchange holds a weekly bidding meeting in the capital).
