The characteristics of Malagasy coffee
The Malagasy government plans to develop approximately 2000 hectares of robert coffee plantations and approximately 5000 hectares of arabica coffee plantations. Therefore, the development of the island's coffee industry depends on its potential for Arabica coffee, which, once successfully exploited, promises to be excellent.

Madagascar is basically a producer of Robaik coffee beans, but there are plans to increase the cultivation of Arabica coffee beans.

Since 1989, the coffee industry has been privatized and many regulations have been lifted, resulting in a high total annual coffee production. Domestic consumption of coffee is high because Malagasy people like to drink coffee. The country produces excellent quality Roscoff coffee and France is its main export market.

According to records, there were 2067 coffee plantations in Cuba in 1833. Among them, the earliest seven coffee plantation sites, such as Raglan Piedra, Elkovre, El Salvador and Nisto Perez, are listed as World Cultural Heritage.
