Everything was difficult at the beginning. In January 2010, I partnered with three friends to open my own coffee shop, Cat in the Corner. In addition to investing the private money I had saved, I also secretly "blackmailed" my father. The cafe has been losing money in its first year of operation. At that time, I wanted to cry without tears. I wanted to sell the store. Fortunately, my mother stood up and told me, "if you can't do anything well, what else do you want to do?" Just left it behind. After 4 years of slowly groping, gradually I also have my own set of methods.

First, listen to other people's stories.

At first, I was so focused on how to make coffee that I ignored my guests. A good cafe should have more than one good cup of coffee. It is more of a relaxed and free atmosphere. Listen to the stories of the guests more often, and you will get something else.

Fresh ingredients are necessary

The quality and taste of my food is the first consideration, and the second is the cost. For example, cheesecake is made with pure cheese and no flour. Not only did I add enough ingredients, but also I set the price a little cheaper than my peers. Slowly, there are more and more guests in the store.

Third, consider the feelings of the guests

On one occasion, the shop suddenly tripped, and the guest ordered something and waited for a long time, so the guest was inevitably angry. After apologizing, I told the guests at these three or four tables that if I didn't want to pay the bill, I didn't have to pay the bill. Unexpectedly, these guests not only did not lose, but also became repeat customers.

Fourth, more freshness

At first, I made a new coffee list every week, not for anything else, but to keep the curiosity of the guests and let them see my intentions. Later, there were more kinds of coffee and desserts in the store, and I didn't have time to make a coffee list. In order to keep this habit, I decided to switch to simple dim sum. That is, can be changed at any time, but also can design their own electronic recipes.
