Honduras Coffee

Last Updated: 2024/11/08, When coffee trees are planted in Honduras, over the course of a whole year, the whole family's hard work can be exchanged for 3,400,000 Lempira. In other words, the average monthly income of the family is NT $5600.

The average annual income of Honduras is US $3830, which makes one wonder why the country is so poor. In 1998, Hurricane Mitch hit the area, causing numerous damage to homes, roads and bridges and causing damage of up to 5 billion US dollars, setting the economy of Honduras back almost 30 years. Of course, the unstable political environment is also another major cause.

Peggy does its best to let Taiwan's coffee industry know more about Honduras coffee and set up a platform for mutual cooperation, which will not only promote the interests of local farmers, but also enable Taiwanese consumers to buy conscience products free from exploitation.

From west to east, the main coffee producing areas in Honduras are:

Copan

Opalaca

Montecillos

Azul meambar

Agalta tropical

Several coffee beans tested in this cup are samples obtained from Peggy Lee's site visit to the coffee shop in Honduras (IHCAFE) and local small farmers, with a total of eight Item.

In the case of Item 4, both dry and wet aromas are full of honey, candy-like sweetness, slightly floral flavors, medium thickness, but also clean and smooth. Honduras coffee beans with this style are easily accepted by Taiwanese consumers.
