The development history of Starbucks in the United States and the evolution of Starbucks trademark
The first coffee shop in the United States was London Coffee (London Coffee House), which opened in Boston in 1691. Later, the largest coffee shop in the world was also born in Boston. It was founded in 1808 and unfortunately was destroyed in a fire 10 years later.
Americans have created many miracles of chain operation in the catering industry, such as the well-known chain brands such as McDonald's, KFC and Pizza Hut, but no one would have thought that in just 20 years, Starbucks has created another fairy tale glory. Today, when you go to many modern cities in the world, you will see a green round icon with the pattern of a goddess on it, smiling and telling you about a miracle from America.
The history of Starbucks
For coffee drinkers, Starbucks is a familiar name, which originated from the protagonist of Moby Dick Moby Dick, the masterpiece of Herman Melville, an outstanding American literary master in the 19th century. In 1971, Gerald Baldwin and Gordon Pork opened the first coffee bean and spice store Starbucks in Seattle, USA. In 1987, Howard Schultz (HowardSchultz) spent $4 million to reorganize Starbucks, promoting the transformation of Starbucks into an Italian cafe and running Starbucks entirely on its own ideas, giving the company a lot of momentum.
Starbucks coffee is very popular among students and urban white-collar workers in the United States and Canada. In addition to coffee, Starbucks also offers things such as tea (whether hot or cold), pancakes, cakes, etc. Some Starbucks stores are even located in local stores such as supermarkets and bookstores (Starbucks does not run these supermarkets or bookstores). Generally speaking, the price of Starbucks coffee will not be higher than that of its competitors. As of February 2006, Starbucks has more than 9000 stores worldwide, located in North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and the Pacific Rim.
Starbucks trademark
The first two versions
There are two versions of the Starbucks logo. The first version of the brown logo is derived from a 16th-century Scandinavian wood carving of a double-tailed mermaid with naked breasts and a fully visible double fish tail.
Later, Starbucks was merged by Daily Coffee, founded by Mr. Howard Shaw, so it changed to a new trademark.
The second edition of the logo, using the original mermaid pattern, but with some modifications, she did not have naked breasts, and changed the color of the trademark to the green of daily coffee, thus the trademark that combines the characteristics of the original Starbucks and Daily Coffee was born.
At present, the "first" Starbucks store in Park Market in Seattle still retains the original trademark, and most of the goods sold in it also carry this trademark. The so-called first house has actually moved away from the original site, although it is still on Park Market Street.
The fourth replacement
On January 5, 2011, Starbucks, the world's largest coffee chain, announced the replacement of its 19-year-old trademark. Following the wordless logo of brands such as Apple and Nike, Starbucks removed all the words "STARBUCKS" and "COFFEE" from the old logo, while the original long-haired witch enlarged to become the only identification symbol.
