How the Lab Came to Be

In 2012, the Pu'er municipal government allocated 10 million RMB specifically for lab construction and assigned a vice-mayor to oversee the project. The Pu'er Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau formed a dedicated task force. After more than five years of preparation, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine officially approved the project in August 2015.

Once completed, the National Coffee Testing Key Laboratory (Pu'er) will offer a full suite of services: inspection and quarantine, arbitration, scientific research, training, and international technical exchange.
