It was learned from Yunnan Pu 'er Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau that the construction of national coffee testing key laboratory was started in Pu' er City, marking the birth of the only national coffee product professional laboratory in Yunnan Province.

Coffee cultivation in Pu 'er City began at the end of the 19th century and began industrial development in 1988. In 2015, the coffee planting area of the whole city was 757,000 mu, with 402,300 mu put into production, 39,900 tons of output value, 1.2 billion yuan of total output value, 28,200 tons of export value and 69 million US dollars of foreign exchange earned. It was exported to more than 30 countries and regions such as America, Europe and Asia. At present, Pu 'er has become the main coffee producing area and coffee trade distribution center with the largest planting area, the highest output and the best quality in China.

With the development of Pu 'er coffee industry, there is no scientific, standardized and well-equipped key laboratory for coffee testing, which seriously restricts the development of coffee industry and the foreign trade of coffee products. In 2012, the government of Pu 'er City allocated 10 million yuan for the special construction of the laboratory, and a vice mayor took charge of the preparation work of the laboratory. Pu' er Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau actively set up a leading group for the preparation work. Through more than five years of active efforts and a lot of work, AQSIQ officially approved the construction of the National Key Coffee Testing Laboratory in Pu 'er in August 2015.

After the completion of the National Key Laboratory for Coffee Testing (Pu 'er), it will fill the gap in the professional laboratory of Chinese coffee products, build a multifunctional service platform for inspection and quarantine, arbitration, scientific research, personnel training and foreign technical exchange of Pu' er coffee industry, provide strong technical support for foreign trade of coffee products, and effectively promote the development of Pu 'er coffee industry.
