Ethiopian coffee producing areas
There are eight main producing areas of Ethiopian coffee: Ekempti, Limu, Illubabor,
Djimma、Harrar、Teppi/Bebeka、Sidamo、Yirgacheffe。
Ethiopian coffee is highly rated in Taiwan, especially the Chinese people are particularly interested in and love Ethiopia's Harrar, Sidamo and Yirgacheffe. Sidama Province is located in the south of Ethiopia, Arsi Province in the north, Bale Province in the east and Gamu Gofa Province in the west. Sidama administrative district jurisdiction includes Yirgacheffe (Yirgacheffe), Kochere (Kochere) two very famous production areas. The industry is dominated by agriculture, and coffee is grown in areas around the Great Rift Valley. Bench Maji is located in the south of Ethiopia and is one of the two primary forest coffee producing areas in Ethiopia, one is Bench Maji and the other is Kafa Frost coffee producing area.
There are four types of Ethiopian export coffee: forest coffee, semi-forest coffee, garden coffee and plantation coffee.
Forest coffee accounts for about 10% of all coffee production and is produced in areas such as Bale, West Wolega, Bench-Maji, Keficho-Shekicho, Metu and Jimma in southern and southwestern Ethiopia. Original Forest Coffee has a natural pest resistance, organic and dry top quality flavor.
Semi-forest coffee (semi-forest) is coffee produced by small farmers in the virgin forest coffee trees have special care, there are to prune coffee trees and weeds, as well as shade trees pruned, the fruit is ripe, then harvested for sale, this type of coffee accounts for about 35% of all production.
Garden coffee is now the main Ethiopian coffee, it is close to the coffee smallholder's home, each coffee smallholder family cultivation area of about less than one hectare, the collection of these smallholders to form numerous cooperatives of different sizes, production is also concentrated in the south and southwest, and the east such as (Sidamo, Gedeo, South and North Omo. Hararghe, Wolega and Gurage Zones, East and West.) This type of coffee accounts for about 50% of all production.
Plantation coffee is grown on large acreage only within the government system and accounts for only about 5% of total coffee production.
This batch is Bench Maji G3 is a virgin forest coffee, organic and natural coffee, exported from Bench Maji Forest Coffee Producers Farmers Cooperative Union Ltd, an export company formed by 64 major cooperatives. The beans are excellent in appearance, consistency, freshness to dry aroma and flavor. The dry aroma performance is very top. Flavor characteristics: pineapple, ripe fruit, spices, wine, dark chocolate. Light fermented wine, fine acidity, berry flavor, cocoa flavor, clean and balanced taste, lively fruit finish.
