SammyLin's Coffee Pulling Art: Elephant Trunk Mountain
The World of SammyLin: I don't know how many people will remember this work [Elephant Trunk Hill]. The purpose of mentioning it is to remind students that the pursuit of "shape" is not as good as the pursuit of "meaning". The charm of ink is that even if it is only a little bit, it will be full of charm. So I hope that students in the practice of encirclement method, whether it is imitation or their own original, please remember four words: simple in shape and deep in meaning.

SammyLin's Art of Coffee drawing: van Gogh
The World of SammyLin: I want to make no secret of my love for this new work. It is simple enough not to use the encirclement method, not even the traditional flower-drawing technique. The mountain curve on the coffee is the trace left by the milk poured into the cup, and at the last minute I clearly imagine the "tree" in my mind. It's not a masterpiece of any technique, but I'm going to use it as "art coffee."
