Flavor description of coffee beans treated with Panamanian Hartmann red wine
Panama Hartmann Red Wine Treated Coffee Bean Flavor Description Grind Scale Introduction to the region of production
30 hectares of the estate are planted with coffee trees and the remaining 35 hectares are virgin forests. Coffee is grown at altitudes ranging from 1670 to 1850 meters, making it one of the two highest coffee estates in Panama (the other one at this altitude would be Carmen Estate in the Vulcan Valley).
Kaduai trees are relatively low, and compared to other coffee trees, kaduai fruits grow stronger and are difficult to pick. The fruit is red and yellow. So far, yellow fruits have not been found to taste better than red fruits. On the contrary, some people found in the cup test that although the acidity of some yellow fruits was good, the coffee tasted cleaner than the red fruits.
Hartman's story, like his coffee, is legendary. Hartman Manor is located in Zelich, Santa Clara. The founder was Louis Strauss Hartman. He was born on June 20, 1891, in the Moravila region of Hungary, Austria, in what is now the Czech Republic; he died on May 25, 1970, aged 78. Hartman Manor is a family business founded in 1940 by Latip Hartman (son of Louis). In 1966, Lattie married Denora Sandy of Costa Rica. They had five sons, little latitte, alan, alexander, alice and kelly. Each member of the family is responsible for the growing, harvesting and estate visits. A family estate that has grown coffee for more than 100 years is a legend in itself.
