Jane of raw coffee beans from Hambela Manor, one of the boutique coffee farms in Ethiopia.
The bean I would like to share with my friends today comes from a family company with a long history in Ethiopia called METAD Agriculture Development PLC, which owns Hambela Coffee Farm. Raw coffee beans from Hambela Manor
There are countless coffee-producing countries, but they can be remembered. These are the places where coffee is produced in large quantities. Where does the Ethiopian Sidamo or Yegashifi we usually drink come from? Most of them come from treatment plants (mill) or Farmers' Cooperative Alliance (farmer cooperative union), which are mainly planted by small farmers.
It is said that the history of coffee cultivation at Hambela Manor dates back to the end of World War II. In the remote 1950s, there was a powerful woman named Muluemebet Emiru. She is not only the first female pilot in Africa, but also the first female family leader.
As soon as the king of Ethiopia was happy, he gave her a great reward, including rich land. As you may have guessed, Hambela Manor came in this way.
After the unremitting efforts of nearly three generations, METAD, a company owned by Hambela Manor, has established links with local cooperatives and farmers' cooperative alliances in almost all coffee producing areas in Ethiopia. Not only that, it has also invested considerable energy in caring for women's rights, providing educational opportunities for children, providing medical support for people in the community, and introducing advanced technology to provide equipment to farmers. Its serious attitude towards coffee is reflected in the fact that METAD has the first and only private SCAA certified coffee quality control laboratory on the African continent to provide training for coffee professionals at home and abroad.
