Order a cup of coffee, take a seat you like, read a book on a computer, and sit all afternoon. It seems cozy and beautiful, but that's not the case for Zlata Koshlina. Born in Russia, he came to the United States, hoping to break the habit of "sitting until full" in a coffee shop and opened a coffee shop in Brooklyn, Glass Hour.

At Glass Hour, customers can drink as much coffee as they want, and the way they pay for it is not based on the meal, but on time, Munchies reported. A fee of US $6 (about NT $192) will be charged as soon as you enter the door, and the amount is one hour. After an hour, the charge is 10 cents (about NT $3.2) per minute, up to US $24 (about NT $768), which means you don't have to pay more for more than four hours.

Then is there a separate charge for meals? The answer is no. Coffee, tea, oatmeal bars and cookies are all unlimited. As for the concept behind this coffee shop? Let's see what co-founder Zlata Koshlina has to say.

Q: why do you want to charge by time?

The founders of this coffee shop are all from Russia, and this mode of operation also comes from here, and there are many similar coffee shops in Moscow. When we came to New York and found that there was nothing here, we decided to give it a try.

Q: do you regard this shop as a coffee shop or a common work space?

We are trying to make it a gathering place for young entrepreneurs, tech professionals and designers. This can be a common office place during the day, but in the evenings and holidays, it is more likely to be a place for people to rest and rest.

The first floor is so bright that it is suitable for both working and playing some board games. Downstairs is darker, more like a game room, with Playstation and lazybone sofas. If you want to play corpse killing, the dim atmosphere here is suitable, even during the day.

Q: how have the customers reacted so far? Do you have any regular customers?

Often the first time you come, you will come a second time. Now some people use this place as a workplace and come here almost every day, but most people only come on holidays. Of course, we hope that there will be a steady stream of people every day, but the most important thing is to make our customers feel comfortable.

Q: how long does everyone stay here?

People usually spend four to six hours on weekdays, but even if they just come to play games, they stay for two to two and a half hours.

Q: it has been two months since its opening, why only go to the fund-raising platform Kickstarter to raise money now?

The other three founders and I are all under the age of 25. Apart from this store, we have our own jobs, and the money to start this store comes from everyone's money, without foreign investment. But there is still a lot of room for improvement in this store, such as buying a better coffee maker, more food, etc., so we went to the fund-raising platform for support, and we wanted to make the coffee shop better.

How do you feel when you see this? Many coffee shops in Taiwan have limited time, and although they are used to it, they still want to find a coffee shop with no time limit, but there are also business considerations for operators. If the payment system in the text is moved to Taiwan, do you think consumers will pay the bill? Is it a good way for operators?
