At present, the company has installed 20 machines in Beijing, each selling an average of 30 cups of coffee a day. The manufacturing cost of each coffee machine is about 30,000 yuan, and the cost can be recovered in about seven months of operation.

Previously, Wang Xuan was responsible for supply chain management in a Fortune 500 company in Australia, while Guan Lin had many years of experience in the research and development of vending machines and developed self-service terminals such as movie ticket machines.

Last September, the team officially launched the "Bi Ying Coffee" project. As a 24-hour automatic vending machine, Biying coffee machine can make a cup of coffee in 35 seconds by simulating the steps of hand coffee grinding, cake pressing, extraction, brewing and so on.

Due to the team's experience in developing vending machines, the 1.0 version of the coffee machine was developed 2 months later. Among them, the hardware part is designed independently by the team and commissioned to be produced by the contract factory; in the software part, considering that the Linux system development products are not beautiful enough and the post-update iteration is inconvenient, the team uses Android to develop.

At the end of last year, the product development was completed, but the team was in no hurry to promote it. "We had no experience at that time, which led to a high rate of jams in the brewing process of the coffee machine." The 1.0 version of the machine card cup rate (the cup is stuck at the mouth of the machine) at the level of several percent, the actual operation will seriously affect the customer experience, and the later maintenance cost is high.

After careful analysis, the team found that the main reason for the card cup was the inappropriate height angle of the cup suspension, so the overall structure of the machine was redesigned and adjusted. After repeated testing, the latest version 3.0 machine cup rate can be reduced to the 1/10000 level.

At the beginning of this year, the team tried to put the first batch of equipment (a total of 20 sets) in shopping malls, schools, business buildings and other places to verify different types of consumption scenarios and collect feedback data. In the choice of location, the team is mainly based on three principles: the size of the flow of people, whether there is a stop scene and consumption habits.

Based on the actual feedback data, the team found that the university campus was the best place to put it. "in many school libraries, students drink coffee to refresh themselves during self-study, and the consumption scene fits very well. And the rent in the school is relatively low, about 500,000 yuan / Taiwan / month. "

In terms of coffee taste, the team has baristas from Costa responsible for product development. "in terms of coffee intensity, we adhere to the principle of satisfying the vast majority of users, and a few regular coffee drinkers will report that our coffee is a little light."

At present, "Bi Ying Coffee" is sold in 12 categories, of which 6 are coffee, with a selling price of 1213 yuan and a net interest rate of 80% to 85%. In the future, the company hopes to horizontally expand more types of vending machines, at the same time, through the fuselage advertising, cup advertising and other business, to increase more profit points.

It is understood that the project is starting an angel round of financing, with plans to raise 5 million yuan and sell 10 per cent of shares. The funds will mainly be used for the production of terminal machines and the acceleration of offline deployment.
