Cup Test Report:

Kiaguthu is a treatment plant located on the slopes of the Abedares Mountains in Neri District. The altitude is about 1800- 2000 meters. The factory was also a co-operative, buying coffee cherries grown by nearby farmers for processing and managed by a committee. Farmers in the area are mainly Sl-28 and SL-34, with a small amount of Ruiru mixed together. I visited Kenya last year, and actually sampled a lot of coffee, and the coffee in this area is very, very good, clean, charming, meticulous--

Dry aromas ground when lightly roasted. Delicate sweet notes with sweet spices, ginger and cloves. The wet aroma after hot water is a combination of marmalade and clove soda, impressive sweetness, and a complex apple smell. The cup shows spice when hot, tea, nutmeg, clove and cinnamon, citrus flavors and acidity, grapefruit, orange and pear and plum subtle taste, very juicy. If the roast is increased to medium dark, rich cocoa flavor, dark grape juice-incredibly good coffee.

Cup Score: 92

■ Taste intensity/flavor trend: intense intensity/citrus flavor and acidity, subtle taste of grapefruit, orange and pear and plum
