Introduction of Atitlan in Lake Attilan production area

Lake Attilan is one of the four major volcanic coffee areas in Guatemala. The mountainous Atitlan region gives coffee a more leisurely personality but no less flavor than Huehuetenango. The soil of Attland is full of fertile organic matter. 90% of the coffee is grown along extremely steep slopes, all the way to Lake Attilan, the largest and most famous volcanic lake in Guatemala, and the daily cool breeze from the Atitl á n lake, giving the region's microclimate its own style and characteristics.

Introduction to Chakaya San Diego Cooperative Manor [Finca San Isidro Chacaya]

Chakaya San Diego Cooperative Manor [Finca San Isidro Chacaya] is a family business that has been producing the best coffee in more than 100 years.

The farm is located in the highlands of western Guatemala, in Solola á, in the middle of the famous traditional Atitl á n ®region. Chacay á is located between the volcanoes of San Pedro and Lake Attila (also known as the most beautiful lake in the world! ). The farm covers an area of 180 hectares, of which 46 grow coffee and the rest are excellent nature reserves. Chacay á is between 1550 and 2100 meters above sea level. On the mountain. Due to the STI terrain, there are magnificent views of the lake, farms, books and plantations around three volcanoes (Atitlan, San Pedro and Toleman).

The output of the farm is about 80-1500 bags of 60 kg. Quality is our most valuable asset and is actively affected by altitude, volcanic soil, different microclimates that can be found on farms, and good agricultural practices. Close to lakes, volcanoes and mountains around farms are important factors that determine microclimate. Our coffee is traditionally processed on the farm: selection, desizing, natural fermentation, washing and sunshine / cool drying.

We grow different varieties of coffee, but we realize that half of our farm grows Typica, which produces beautiful, long beans, with the famous "S" curved veins. In addition to Typica, we also grow Katula, Bourbon, Ethiopia, geisha, Pacamara and Mundonovo.

All coffee produced on the farm is exported in trace amounts to Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Japan, Taiwan and the United States.
