Starbucks Coffee Company was founded in 1971. Starbucks,NASDAQ:SBUX is an American coffee chain and the world's largest coffee chain, headquartered in Seattle, Washington, USA.

Founded in 1971, Starbucks is founded by English teacher Jerry Baldwin, history teacher Zev Siegel and writer Gordon Bowker. The trio opened their shop under the influence of Alfred Peet's Pitt Coffee Company. The first Starbucks store, located next to the fish market Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle, sells high-quality coffee beans and coffee equipment.

In 1987, Howard Schultz raised money to buy Starbucks and opened the first store to sell filtered coffee and espresso drinks, leading the company over several business milestones.

In June 1992, Starbucks, as the first professional coffee company, was successfully listed on NASDAQ in New York, which rapidly promoted the company's business growth and brand development, and entered a new stage of development.

It became the largest coffee chain in the world in 1996. In August 1996, in order to seek overseas development, Xiao Zi went to Tokyo, Japan and personally supervised the first overseas store. And vigorously open up the Asian market, enter Taiwan and Chinese mainland. Since then, Starbucks' business has skyrocketed, expanding at the rate of opening a new branch every day.

With a turnover of US $14.9 billion (2013) in 2013, it has more than 15000 coffee shops in North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Pacific Rim countries, with more than 200000 employees and a market capitalization of US $56.686 billion (2014-09-30). Trademark

The original brown version of the 1971 Starbucks logo is derived from a 16th-century Scandinavian wood carving of a double-tailed mermaid with naked breasts and a clearly visible double fish tail.

Starbucks by Howard? The daily coffee created by Shauze merged, replaced with a new trademark, followed the original mermaid pattern, made some modifications, trimmed the naked breasts and changed the color to the green of daily coffee. Thus the trademark that combines the characteristics of the original Starbucks and Daily Coffee was born.

At present, the "first" Starbucks store in Park Market in Seattle still retains the original trademark, and most of the goods sold in it also carry this trademark. The so-called first house has actually moved away from the original site, although it is still on Park Market Street.

In 2006, Starbucks revived the brown logo, but only on paper cups for hot drinks. To celebrate its 35th anniversary, Starbucks pointed out that the event was limited to the United States and ended at the end of September of that year.

In 2011, remove the "STARBUCKS COFFEE" ring from the old logo, leaving only the mermaid pattern in the middle.

The Story of the impoverished Childhood and the struggle for the Top of Starbucks Chairman _ Howard Shauz (Howard Schultz)

In the winter of 1961, the truck driver's father lost half his leg in an accident and lost his financial resources. Father drowns his sorrows by drinking every day. Xiao Zi became a punching bag and was beaten and scolded from time to time. There was only a little poor bread and bitter coffee on the table.

Christmas present

On Christmas Eve when he was 12 years old, Shaw, who was called a vampire, took his brother and sister-in-law to the street to play. Attracted by a nice can of coffee bag in front of a convenience store. In an instant, the thought of daring crossed my mind. He didn't want to hear his father complain that the coffee was too bad at the dinner table. He wanted to give the can of coffee to his father as a Christmas present. So he put aside his brother and sister-in-law and said he wanted to go home first. Then he quickly went to pick up the coffee can and stuffed it into his cotton-padded coat. Unfortunately, he was seen by the shopkeeper and rushed towards Xiao Zi, shouting at the thief. Shaw pulled his legs and went home desperately.

Xiao Zi handed the coffee to his father's hand, and the father looked at him questioningly. The drunk man gently touched Xiao Zi's head and said, "Thank you, son!" When the family was drinking the coffee picked up by Xiao Zi, smiling and admiring the fragrance that they had never tasted before, the convenience store owner came up. Shawtz's theft was exposed. He stood in the corner and ran away while the shopkeeper was still shouting at home. Xiao Zi wandered in the streets, cold and hungry, so tired that he fell asleep in the underpass to spend Christmas Eve. This unforgettable Christmas Eve left Xiao Zi not only the strong aroma of coffee, but also the taste of pain, he vowed to work hard to one day afford to buy the most fragrant coffee.

Xiao Zi was admitted to the university with excellent grades. But when his family was poor and tried to prepare for college admission, the Wildcat team at the University of Northern Michigan took a fancy to his rugby skills and won a scholarship to the University of Northern Michigan. Xiao Zi realized that rugby was not his life ambition and devoted all his energy to his schoolwork and study. After earning a bachelor's degree in business, he entered the famous New York branch of Xerox, became an excellent salesman and earned a handsome commission. He not only sent money to his mother, but also made an exception to pick out a special gift for his father, a box of fine black coffee beans from Brazil. The incident caused by coffee when he was young was an unforgettable shame for him for the rest of his life. Later, Shawtz decided to pursue greater achievements and change jobs to the American branch of Swedish Kitchen plastic products Company. In less than a year, he was appointed general manager of the US branch with an annual salary of US $75000.

My father died.

In early 1982, Xiao Zi received a call from his mother. She said that his father missed him very much and hoped that he would go back and have a look. Xiao Zi rejected his mother's alibi. A week later, Shauze hurried back to his old house in Brooklyn without seeing his father. The day after his mother called him, his father died of a cerebral hemorrhage, perhaps with an inexplicable premonition and concern before his death. the day before his death, the father suddenly told his mother that he wanted to see his son, but this last wish was not realized.

Xiao Zi's heart was occupied by great sorrow. He hoped that they could fight again like 20 years. He hated that he had cursed his father even more. If time could come back, how he wished he could be with his father. But now, even my father's beating and scolding has become a precious memory that will never come again. Xiao Zi tidied up his father's belongings and saw a wooden box left by his father, in which there was a coffee can with mottled rust. He recognized at first glance that he had stolen a Christmas present for his father when he was twelve years old. There is a line engraved on the lid, which is the father's handwriting: a gift from his son, Christmas in 1965. A sore nose, memories of the past, sighing unceasingly. It never occurred to him that his father cherished it so much.

He found a crumpled note in the coffee can. The date should have been written by his father the year he insisted on going to college. The father wrote in the letter: "Dear son, as a father, I did fail. I neither gave you a good living environment, nor could I afford you to go to college. I am indeed a rough man as you said." But son, I also have my own dream. My greatest wish is to own a coffee shop, put on clean clothes, and leisurely grind and brew a cup of fragrant coffee for you. However, I can't realize this wish. I hope you can have such happiness. But I don't know how to make you understand what's on my mind. It seems that only beating and scolding can make you notice me as a father.

When his father went, Xiao Zi felt that his life had been emptied when he had a good cup of coffee in his heart. Isn't that what the father and son pursued so hard? Coincidentally, he saw an advertisement that a small coffee retailer in Seattle was going to sell its store. So he quit his position with an annual salary of $75000, took over the small company and converted it into a dark green cafe that would become the world-famous Starbucks.
