3. Makala (Montecillos- Marcala): a coffee producing area for consistency and balance. This area covers the provinces of La Paz,Gomayagua, Santa B á rbara and Intibuca, which are connected by the Montecillos Central Mountains.
Marcala producing area has a good reputation and image in the international market because of its high quality coffee. Today, the region also has a protected named coffee of origin, Marcala Coffee, as an alternative to improving competitiveness and protecting coffee produced in the region.
