Acatenango is located in Chimaltenango province of Guatemala. More than 5000 hectares of coffee plantations are fertile volcanoes, mainly located in two volcanic mountains, and almost all of them have forests and shade trees. As can be seen from the photos above, almost all of the estates are planted with shade trees. The main varieties are bourbon and some Catuai and Caturra. Acatenango is the third highest volcano in Central America, and beyond Fuego lies Lake Atlantis.

Annual rainfall here is 48 to 72 inches, average annual temperature is 14 to 31 degrees C, temperature difference is large enough, so the bean density is tight, good for flavor, coffee harvest season is mainly in mid January to March. At present, Kaqchiquels still live in this area and maintain traditional farming methods, while Santa Felicia Manor maintains good relations with Kaqchiquels and treats them well, so the farm farming is in charge of this tribe and gets along well with them. The region has about 4,000 farmers, coffee cultivation dates back to 1880, and Santa Felicia Manor was opened in 1907, plus the estate is located at a higher altitude, is also a pioneer of Accadillac.

Finca Santa Felisa Felisa Manor), a famous organic coffee garden in Guatemala, was founded by Trinidad E. Cruz was founded in 1904 in Maya Kakchiquel community in Aktilan. For 100 years, Cruz has lived in peace with Maya people. Cruz family is honest and kind to aborigines. Up to now, Maya Kakchiquel people still serve their family in the estate. Cruz family has also entered the fourth generation.

In 2011, Antonio Meneses, the current owner, decided to bid independently for quality batches of the estate, just like Emerald Estate in Panama, which was the first single bid for organic estates in the coffee world.

Due to the high altitude of Acatenango volcanic area, coffee cherries mature slowly, so the acidity is still bright, but it can get a more balanced sweetness and mature overall flavor, which makes the premium coffee in this area have the advantage of fullness and balance.
