Ethiopia Yega Sheffihalu Halo
This is a classic water wash Yega Xuefei, from the Haru Water washing Plant in Gedeb. Jettip is a community near the town of Jejachafi, located in the Jettio producing area (Gedeo Zone), straddling Sidamo and Auromia.
Yega Chefee, which has always been known around the world for its aroma, was found by The Coffee Collective this year in Chelchele, near Jettip. Farmers around Checcheri send the cherries to the Halo washing plant, which belongs to METAD Agricultural Development PLC., and is run by three brothers, Aman, Tariku and Michael. They are third-generation coffee farmers who own farms in Gucci and Sidamo. Aman Adinew worked in the United States and later returned to Ethiopia. Under his leadership, Mehta introduced the most advanced concepts and technology to build the best cup testing laboratory on the African continent. The Haru washing plant itself is organically certified.
Mehta's vision is to help farmers produce better coffee and implement sustainable farming laws, providing not only education, training and technical support, but also a number of social benefits, so that family schoolchildren working on farms can go to school and employ 70% of women.
