Almost no country is more famous for coffee than Colombia. No region in Colombia produces more coffee than Huila, which is located in the mountains of the southwest.
Columbia Huilan (Colombia huila) is one of the top boutiques in Colombia. Its balance is recognized as the best coffee, belonging to the Colombian State Corporation's selected alpine coffee beans, known as the Colombian national treasure. With its superior geographical and climatic conditions, Colombian coffee has always maintained high quality. Colombian coffee beans, which usually do not have a special market trademark, are from the National Coffee Farmers' Union of Colombia (national federation of colombia coffee growers), a very large alliance that spans Colombia. It has always been famous for its strict quality control and active promotion.
In the Colombian coffee bean grading system, supremo is the highest grade, with the largest and fullest grains in Colombian coffee beans, with very few defective beans and sundries, while excelso is the smaller, more common grade. Colombian coffee has a balanced flavor, rich acidity, unique flavor characteristics, relatively full consistency, sometimes with a touch of red wine flavor and admirable fruit flavor. In Colombia, a small portion of coffee comes from the old Tibica or bourbon, which is generally branded by the name of the manor or the name of the processing factory.
The Huilan producing area, located in southwestern Colombia, is one of the well-known Colombian boutique coffee producing areas on the canyon slope formed at the junction of the western Linhai Mountains and the eastern mountains. it is also the southernmost area of the boutique coffee growing area with higher latitudes. Compared with other areas, the Vera producing area has rain all the year round and the climate and temperature are suitable. Such planting conditions provide the region with high-quality coffee beans that can even be planted to an area of more than 2,000 meters. Huilanduo is mainly small farmers, and the coffee is washed.
Unlike the coffee producing countries in Central America, which are mostly classified by the altitude of their growth, Colombian coffee is distinguished by the size of the bean-shaped mesh, of which the Supremo grade above 17 mesh is the largest, and the next grade is the 16-mesh EXCELSO EXTRA.
In 2016, Huilan produced 2.6 million 60-kilogram bags, accounting for 18 percent of the country's coffee, according to the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (FNC). In the same year, the Neva Chamber of Commerce reported that 154800 hectares of land in the sector was used for coffee.
But Huilan's value lies not only in the amount of coffee. It also depends on its quality. It regularly produces a cup of excellence. More importantly, in 2013, it gained an appellation of origin-the same status as champagne, feta and many other foods and drinks with unique location-specific characteristics.
Then there is its reputation. Many roasters, baristas and cafe owners will tell you that Huilan is one of their favorite sources of coffee, thanks to its bright acidity, sweetness and aroma.
