WAHANA Longberry Longguo variety is named according to its appearance. The bean body is long and the variety comes from Harald Longberry in Ethiopia. It is a natural mutant of typica. In Indonesia, Longberry grows only in Aceh province, but WAHANA took it to a manor in Lake dopa to test it and developed a long bean with a different flavor from Aceh province.

WAHANA Manor, founded in 2005, is located on the west side of Lake dopa, the Shidikaran producing area of Sumatra, between 1300 and 1500 meters. Ideal climatic conditions and sufficient precipitation represent the high level of Lake dopa area.

WAHANA Manor is not a traditional manor. It not only produces high quality coffee, but also strives to improve the quality of coffee grown for farmers throughout the region. As an experimental farm, one of its purposes is to find a variety of coffee that suits the climate of the region. The estate has set up a technical support center for farmers, which will distribute coffee seeds free of charge-and provide information and advice on farm management, shade planting protection and the use of organic fertilizers. WAHANA is also a centralized processing plant that helps small growers in the surrounding area deal with ripe coffee cherries.

The acreage of WAHANA Manor is 250ha. Thirteen different coffee tree species have been planted, including local and foreign varieties. These tree species are carefully divided into different plots to produce different varieties of coffee, including some tree species with local Indonesian characteristics-Rasuna, Long Berry, Andong Sari, Toraja, S795 (Jember), Jantung. And more widely planted varieties-Caturra, Catuai, Villa Sachi and Colombia and other Tipica species. Coffee trees are planted at a density of about 2000 trees per hectare-these coffee trees are evenly planted in the shade of local Lamtoro trees spaced 2x 2.5m apart.

Unlike the usual wet-throwing treatment of Indonesian coffee, the coffee at WAHANA Manor is fully washed-using a new pulp removal machine. The machine, installed in 2009, can handle 25 tons of ripe coffee cherries per hour. Coffee cherries are picked when they are fully ripe, and processed raw coffee beans are sorted and graded by hand. In addition, WAHANA Manor is now promoting raw coffee beans treated in the sun, such as 100%Rasuna sun.
