Swiss food giant Nestl é has stepped up its investment in its high-end capsule coffee brand Nespresso.

On November 21st, Nestl é Nespresso announced an investment of 43 million Swiss francs to build two new production lines at its plant in Romont, Switzerland, to meet the growing demand for the multi-purpose coffee system Vertuo. CEO Jean-Marc Duvoisin of Nespresso said that Vertuo business will be an important contributor to the future development of Nespresso.

At the same time, Nespresso will integrate the existing product research and development center and the Coffee Campus (Coffee Campus) to open an innovation center to promote global innovation and coffee expertise. Among them, the product R & D center is responsible for the development of new Nespresso coffee machines, Grand Cru coffee and some unique coffee. According to Nestle's financial results for the first nine months of 2018, as of the third quarter of this year, Vertuo has been launched in 14 markets around the world.

For Nestl é, the coffee business is an important driving force for its growth, which has achieved more positive organic growth in the past few years, of which the fastest growth is capsule coffee.
