Lishi is a brand new blue mountain coffee processing plant in Jamaica.
The Lishi Coffee processing Plant is owned by the Jamaican Coffee Association and is located in the Blue Mountains Heights northeast of the capital Kingston.
The Lishi Coffee processing Plant supports the local small farms and their communities.
The factory is a large, spotless, modern factory, named after it because its most obvious feature is a pedestal built of many large stones. Coffee bushes dot the farm and the local hillside. Small farms growing all kinds of fruits and vegetables can also be seen nearby. This is a beautiful scenic spot with magnificent scenery surrounded by mountains and dense forests.
Jamaican coffee processing:
Coffee beans are dried outdoors in the sun to achieve the moisture content required before milling. At night, they will cover the beans with tarpaulins to prevent dew from moistening the beans. If the weather conditions do not allow outdoor drying, the beans will be moved indoors to be dried by a large gas engine.
Once the bean reaches the ideal water content, it will enter the milling machine through the guide groove for the first stage of treatment.
In the first stage of grinding, the machine performs multi-stage sorting and removes impurities, small stones or other residues, leaving only clean coffee beans. This special machine needs at least 100 pounds of beans to operate properly.
When the beans remove the thin skin like peanuts, the beans will pass through the sorting machine and distinguish the beans according to their size. The process of going through this quality inspection is very time-consuming and laborious.
At this stage, spread the beans on the table in a brightly lit room and pick out any defective or damaged beans to ensure that only the best beans are bagged.
In the final stage of the sanding process, the beans are packed in bags and let them "rest". Beans are resting and stored in a climate and humidity controlled room for about 6 to 8 weeks.
These carefully stacked bags of Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee beans weigh 60 kilograms or 132 pounds each. The pallet behind this photo is stacked to a height of about 20 feet.
Beans packed in sacks or buckets will be shipped to the baker for certification once they have been fully rested.
The facilities of the Lishi Coffee processing Plant Blue Mountain Coffee processing Plant show that the owners' attention to handling details and stringent quality standards are very impressive.
