French Press

When it comes to the origin of the invention of the French press, it was originally used as an extraction tool in France, because the use of metal filters can fully extract the oil and taste the characteristics of the coffee beans themselves. The quality of coffee beans will directly affect the taste, in other words, the shortcomings will be obvious. Please try it with your favorite coffee beans.

Standard for rough grinding

Because the French press filter mesh is large, if the use of ground coffee powder, the extracted coffee will be mixed with a lot of powder particles, drinking taste will become rustle. However, different manufacturers of pressure filter pot, filter mesh size is not the same, please be sure to confirm the filter.

French press pot steps to use

1. Remove the press rod from the pot, confirm the mesh of the metal strainer, and grind the coffee beans into coarse particles (approximately 20 grams/two cups) that cannot pass through the mesh. Tip: Pull the lever handle up.

2. Pour coffee powder into the pot. To allow the hot water to spread evenly over the powder, gently shake the pot to flatten the surface of the coffee powder.

3. Set the timer for 4 minutes.

4. Start the timer and pour hot water (150 ml) over the coffee grounds for about 30 seconds to dissolve evenly until the water is about half the size of the press. Tip: while fully stewed coffee powder, pour hot water.

5. Slowly pour in hot water (150 ml) until it is complete, and set the lever in position. Hint: Before this, the flooding operation took about 1 minute.

6. Wait until the timed 4 minutes are up and slowly press the lever down.

7. To avoid oversteaming, pour the coffee into the cup immediately. Tip: If a person wants to drink two cups, because coffee powder will soak for a while, so the first cup and the second cup will taste different.
