Guatemala is located in Central America. This is a country with tropical rain forest weather, high humidity and warm climate all year round. It forms the Central American volcanic arc with Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica and Panama. Guatemala therefore has a historical background of natural disasters and fertile soil for commercial agriculture.
Coffee arrived in the United States through the Caribbean Islands between 1720 and 1730 and is the story of Mathieu de Clieu, the famous captain of the French army. After that, the Jesuit team spread coffee to other countries. During this period, Guatemala and the surrounding land belonged to the same Spanish territory. The earliest plantations were planted around 1770. At that time, other crops used as sources of pigment were at the core of the colonial economy.
With the extension of mountains and great changes in microclimate in Guatemala, in recent years, with the development of the coffee industry driven by national efforts, both quality and planting methods have been greatly improved and changed, and has become a top international coffee supplier.
From the cloud-shrouded high-altitude coffee producing areas, savor the quality and meaning of Guatemala.
The coffee beans produced in Guatemala are all Arabica, located in the isthmus of Central America, and the mountains and plateaus formed by many volcanoes produce high-quality high-altitude very hard coffee beans in Central America, making it the ninth largest coffee producer in the world.
The main coffee producing areas in Guatemala are Antigua (Antigua), Huehuetenango (Mini Nanguo), Atitlan (Attila), Coban (Koban), Fraijanes (Farhanis), San Marcos (San Marcos) and Acatenango (Arcannan Fruit).
The Akernango Valley, the smallest and most unique of the seven coffee producing areas, is located on the hillside of a volcano, with an average elevation of 1600 meters above sea level.
Its soil is rich in volcanic mixture and comes from new volcanic ash from neighboring volcanoes. The climate is distinct in four seasons, allowing farmers to dry their coffee in spring, abundant Rain Water to keep humidity in summer, and warm and humid sea breezes from the Pacific Ocean in winter to protect coffee from the cold.
