TOH, or "Taste of Harvest", initiated by the African Coffee Association (African Fine Coffees Association, referred to as AFCA) and held annually among 12 coffee-producing countries in Africa, is similar to the COE competition in America. The difference is that TOH competitions are not only at the national level, but also at the regional and African levels.
The TOH competition process is roughly as follows: in the preliminary stage, the batches with cup test scores less than 80 points are eliminated, from which the highest quality raw beans from each region are gradually selected to enter the national competition, and then by domestic and international judges together, cup testing and scoring are carried out based on the standards of the American Fine Coffee Association (SCAA), and the highest score is the annual national champion.
This water-washed champion bean comes to the Uraga treatment plant in the Guji producing area.
After baking, it shows a very clean and bright taste, rich and varied flavor, lively and leaping, and the fresh fragrance of jasmine and rose is smelled before drinking. After the entrance, there are full and juicy sweet fruits, such as orange, sugar orange, peach, berry, bayberry and so on, intertwined with a hint of clear acidity of yellow lemon, and the finish echoes the elegant sweet aroma of bergamot.
Worthy of the name of the champion!

Coffee roasting scheme
Roaster's Plan
"this Ethiopian water-washed champion coffee is native to the Uraga region and has a shallow roasting degree (Light). Its biggest feature is that although it is washed with water, it has excellent complexity and even gives people the impression of being similar to sun-cured coffee. Therefore, it is hoped that it can show an excellent sense of sweetness through relaxation baking, maintaining complex flavor levels from high temperature to low temperature. "
Coffee cup test and evaluation
Cupper's Note
"like a sunny summer, take a sip of orange soda, grab a handful of fruit candy and stuff it in your mouth, and your mouth is filled with high concentrations of sweet flowers and fruits, like falling in love."
Coffee making suggestion
Barsista's Recommendation
"using 92 ℃ water temperature, the water flows fast and the powder ratio is 1:17, you can get lavender-like aroma, citrus sweet and sour taste, silky taste and well-balanced flavor.
If the ratio of powder to water is 1:15, the taste becomes rich and full, and the sweetness of litchi and maltose is more obvious. "
