Some people in the industry have pointed out that diversified operation may be the only way out or "lifesaver" for humanities bookstores. For example, bookstores and coffee shops are mixed, such as using a good environment to attract some cultural activities and art salons to be held here. Zeng Hua, the owner of Hongwen Bookstore, a famous humanities bookstore in Chengdu, is an experimenter.

In fact, there is a precedent for the Humanities Bookstore to partner with the coffee shop. In the middle and late 1990s, Sanlian Bookstore was one of the most important high-end bookstores in Beijing. Its business content is mainly humanities books, including triple edition books, all kinds of periodicals, original foreign language books and original audio and video products, etc. In October last year, the second floor of Beijing Sanlian Taofen Bookstore was transformed into a flagship cafe store. The person in charge of the bookstore said: the cafe pays the bookstore an annual rent of 1 million yuan, which can lighten the burden on the bookstore, and it is even more unacceptable for the bookstore to close. And the cafe will not affect the reading atmosphere, nor will it affect the operation of the bookstore. According to the West China Metropolis Daily
