Coava boutique coffee roaster
Founder of Coava coffee roaster: Matt Higgins
Coava boutique coffee roaster is located in the industrial zone (address: 1300 SE Grand Ave, Portland, OR 97214) in southeastern Portland, Oregon, USA, founded by store owner Matt Higgins in 2008. Matt Higgins has liked to work as a barista in a coffee shop since high school. After graduating from the University of Oregon in German in 2003, he worked as a translator at Neudorff, an overseas agricultural company, but gradually realized that he still preferred coffee, so he returned to Portland and spent his days off in a company called Pacific Bay Coffee Company. Next to the roaster, the store owner John Laird finally agreed to let Higgins become a coffee roaster apprentice. In 2008, Higgins founded his own baking company, Coava Coffee Roasters.
During the SCAA Portland exhibition in April 2012, the author worked as an on-site baking instructor in the "Curve Art Baking Class", so I went to Portland for a few more days. After the exhibition, I went to visit the Coava coffee roaster.
The girl in the shop is cute. I ordered a cup of hand tanning Sidamo:
The following coffee table is unique and definitely has its own characteristics:
On the table on the sunny side, there are some small coffee seedlings, and green brings vitality to the storefront. Matt Higgins grows a lot of coffee seedlings in his basement.
The Kone stainless steel filter in the following picture is a patented product of the Coava family. For $50 each, it is out of stock. Matt Higgins, for my sake, rummaged through boxes and cabinets to find an item without outer packaging for me:
