Why do so many people like wooden heart? Who is Muxin?

Real name Sun Pu, born in 1927 in Wuzhen, Tongxiang. Graduated from Shanghai Art College. He was the president of Hangzhou painting Research Society and the chief designer of Shanghai Arts and Crafts Center. He settled in New York in 1982. He died on December 21, 2011 in his hometown Wuzhen at the age of 84. His paintings are collected by the British Museum and his prose is included in the course of American Literary History. A group of famous contemporary painters and writers are deeply influenced by his art.

After the death of Mu Xin, one of his little poem "slow from the past" was widely circulated: "I remember when I was a teenager / everyone sincerely / say a sentence / go to the railway station in the early morning / long street dark pedestrians / soya-bean milk shop braved the heat / the sun used to be slow / cars, horses, mail is slow enough to love only one person / good-looking locks / beautiful keys / you can understand when you lock them."

Yesterday, Wuzhen Muxin gallery was completed. It is designed and supervised by architect I.M. Pei's disciples, Hiroshi Okamoto and Lin Bing, of OLI firm in New York, with Chen Danqing as its curator.

From the picture, at first glance, it is very respectful and quiet, as if a little Tadao Ando; is the large amount of wood texture used to echo the word "wood" in Mu Xin?

It is said that on his deathbed, Mr. Muxin looked at the designs of gallery and murmured: "Wind, water, a bridge."

The curator of Muxin Memorial Hall personally brought three inscriptions by Chen Danqing to Hangzhou.

Hundreds of paintings in Mu Xin's remains, which have never been exhibited in China, will be on display as a permanent exhibition on gallery. Gallery will also launch three exhibitions, including Lin Fengmian, a teacher of Muxin, and Nietzsche, a German philosopher who has an influence on Muxin.

Wuzhen Muxin gallery, like a new star in the vast night, provides a promising direction for the emotion and sight of Muxin fans.

In Hangzhou, there is already a star that echoes it with brightness and silence-Muxin Cafe was founded by Li Jiawen. In the literary and art circles in Hangzhou, no one knows about his mortal cafe, a cultural landmark of young people in literature and art.

As a veteran Muxin fan, Li Jiawen attended the inauguration ceremony of Wuzhen Muxin gallery. He sighed: "to achieve the extreme and very moderate, with just the right sense of beauty." Mr. Muxin will love it. "

In 2009, Li Jiawen first read Mu Xin's book, the reflection of Colombia and the Shanghai Fu, which brought Shanghai to life. " He was speechless and shocked, with only one convincing word "good". From then on, he began to collect all kinds of books about Muxin, and in 2013, he opened the Muxin Bookstore for two weeks, selling only Muxin books. He said that when he didn't know what to read, he always picked up the wooden heart.

To be a "wooden Heart Cafe" is something that Li Jiawen has been thinking about for a long time. In May 2014, Wuzhen Muxin Memorial Hall opened. He went on a pilgrimage and wore a new shirt and shoes. When he saw Chen Danqing, he ventured to come forward and ask for words. Two weeks later, Wang Jin, director of the Muxin Memorial Hall, specially sent three words to Hangzhou and asked him to choose one, and bring the remaining two back to Chen Danqing for personal destruction.

Read his books and the books he read in Wuzhen and Hangzhou

Compared with Wuzhen Muxin gallery, the Muxin Cafe in Hangzhou is interesting and cozy to be "far away from rivers and lakes", and each chair is different. Old ceiling fans, early prints by Nietzsche and Flaubert, all ordered by ebay and shipped in New York, constitute a "wooden study" beyond commercial significance.

Here, from 11:00 to 2: 00 in the morning, read a book and get together with two or three friends. This should be the way Mu Xin and Chen Danqing communicate in New York.

Mu Xin once wrote: "from China, exiled to the world, thousands of mountains and rivers, the ends of the earth, all the way to the motherland, hometown." In this cafe, you can see the wooden heart of New York and Wuzhen.

Li Jiawen took a lot of painstaking efforts to complete this dream for many years. The first is the location, the places where Mu Xin stayed in Hangzhou when he was young, Gushan, Pinghu Autumn Moon, Lao Wushan, Old Zhejiang University, Nanshan Road, Wulinmen …... All have been inspected. The final address is this old-fashioned house opposite the municipal government building on Huancheng North Road.

Wuzhen and Hangzhou, these two stars about the heart of wood, reflect each other, are they like notes that have been lost for many years, together into a dusty movement?

Why do so many people like wooden heart?

The wooden heart is like a mirror all his life, and everyone can look at himself and see all kinds of richness and possibilities beyond his own limitations.

Lovers are exhausted manpower, salvage fragments, in a variety of real material nostalgic way, let us see a complete and rich writer and painter as much as possible. We enter Wuzhen Muxin gallery, enter Hangzhou Muxin Cafe, read his books and the books he has read, and see his paintings and paintings he appreciates, not to imitate him, but to gain a kind of power, a power that transcends reality and the spiritual world.
