The story mainly describes a series of stories of six good friends living in New York from acquaintance to 10 years of life together. Welcome to: Central Perk (Central Park Cafe)

Central Park Cafe (Central Perk) is a cafe in Greenwich Village Village, New York City, made up by the famous American TV sitcom Friends. The cafe is one of the main scenes of the play, and it is also the main place where the six protagonists chat about drinking coffee and kill time.

The original name of Central Perk Cafe in Central Park is a pun, alluding to Central Park (also located in Central Park in New York), which is only one letter away from it; and the English meaning of "perk" includes "make happy" and "brew coffee in a percolator", so it can reflect the exciting effect of coffee and can also refer to the process of coffee filtration. The cafe is frequented by the six protagonists because it is only a hundred steps away from the apartment building where Monica, Joey and Chandler live. The last line of Friends also involves the Central Park Cafe. In the show, Rachel asks, "does anyone want to get some coffee?", Chandler says, "where are you going to drink?" and then six friends leave the apartment, and the show finally comes to an end.

The original Central Park Cafe is based on a cafe called Cholmondeley's, which is located in a student dormitory called Usen Castle at Brandys University, the alma mater of the show's creators.

By April 2006, the setting of the Central Park Cafe was still at Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank, California, but the location had been moved to a smaller building, and the size of the set had been reduced to 2/3.

The owner of the cafe in the show is a man named Terry, and both Rachel and Phoebe think he is a "big asshole". Terry rarely shows up in cafes, which he basically leaves to Gunther to run. Gunther later became a regular in the cafe because he was the only one who could operate the giant espresso machine behind the counter.

The Central Park Cafe is full of small tables and chairs, which are usually seated by dragon actors. From the point of view of the main camera, these tables and chairs are behind the big orange sofa in the middle of the cafe. The most conspicuous fixture in the cafe is a large orange sofa on which the protagonists often sit. Usually four of the six friends sit on the sofa, and the other one sits on the green chair on the right; when all six friends are present, the last one sits on the small table and chair on the left. No one else in the cafe will sit on the sofa. For example, when Chandler was sitting, a young man came in and wanted to sit on the sofa. Chandler immediately took the young man away. In addition, the large orange sofa also appears in the opening of Friends, in which the sofa sits in front of a large fountain and the actors dance in the fountain. At the end of the film, six friends sit on the sofa together, while Monica turns off the vertical light on the right.

Rachel worked as a waitress at the Central Park Cafe in the first three seasons of the show. She often confuses customers' meals, puts things in the wrong place, and forgets to clean the coffee machine. In an earlier episode, she delivered meals from five other friends, said what each ordered, and left. But as soon as she left, her five friends began to exchange meals, and it was obvious that Rachel had got everyone's meals wrong. Rachel blamed her poor job performance on that she didn't like the job at all. So in the third episode of Rachel's resignation, she quit her job in a cafe and started a career in fashion.

Joey also worked as a waitress in a cafe because his acting career was stagnant and money was tight and he needed to find another job. Joey's job performance compares favourably with Rachel, in part because he feels he has retired to a lower career.
