Brewing Coffee from Coffee socks: a course on hand-brewing Coffee with Flannel filter cloth
For professional baristas, please follow the coffee workshop (Wechat official account cafe_style)
This summer, I received the simplest coffee brewing method I have ever seen. It is a sock connected to a wire. It's not just socks. Coffee socks are tight knitted socks, which are very suitable for coffee brewing.
I don't go camping, but if I do, it's an ideal brewing method for people who want to keep the packing weight. But you don't need to go out to use beer. I've been brewing it in my own kitchen.
I found coffee tasting closest to Clever Dripper or cleaner French news.
# 1 put coffee socks in the cup
This brewing method is similar to making loose tea with a cup filter.
Put the coffee socks in the empty cup.
# 2 Coffee
I use dripping to get good results. My baseline brewing ratio is 17 to 1 (17 grams of water per gram of coffee). Because you want to make a cup of coffee at a time, find out how many ounces or grams are in your cup, and do some basic math.
I use kitchen scales, but you can follow this basic rule.
A 12-ounce cup of coffee is 340 grams.
Divide 340 by 17 and you get 20 grams of coffee.
A small spoon in a cup of coffee is holding 10 grams.
So 2 ounces per 12 ounce cup.
If you have a 16-ounce cup, add 2 spoons to a scoop.
If you have an 8-ounce cup, subtract 2 spoons from 1 scoop.
Coffee can scoop up about 10 grams of coffee.
Add coffee to the coffee socks.
# 3 heating water
Boil the water and let it cool for 10-30 seconds to lower the temperature a little. Slowly fill the coffee socks. If you notice any coffee cubes that come into contact with water after adding water, use spoons or chopsticks to separate them. You want all the coffee grounds to come into contact with water.
# 4 wait about 3 minutes
On the official website, they used 2 minutes of brewing time. I got better results with 3 minutes of brewing time. The experiment. Use what suits you best.
# 5 remove sock filter and serve
Remove the filter and drink the coffee.
After 3 minutes, remove the coffee socks from the cup.
Coffee is ready!
# 6 Clean up
Let the filter cool for a while, and then dump the garbage into the dustbin or compost. Get it out and give it a rinse. Put it aside to dry for next use.
