Cold extraction, cold brewed ice coffee is very simple! It's not rocket science.
For professional baristas, please follow the coffee workshop (Wechat official account cafe_style)
At that time, coffee shops began to sell cold coffee that was too expensive, again and again that year. Paying $4 or $5 for a cold cup of coffee is ridiculous once you know how easy it is to do it. Cold brewed coffee concentrate is not rocket science.
Contact the ground coffee with cold water for hours.
Filter out the coffee.
Done.
At this point, you can add more water, milk and even lark Irish cream.
The only question is how do you want to filter the coffee? You can use the classic Toddy,Primula or you can build your own in a cheap place. In this tutorial, we will use Madesco's reusable cold beer coffee filter bags and glass cans. No plugs or drills or special filters. This is as simple as coffee brewing.
For this tutorial, we use the basic size of Madesco's reusable cold beer coffee bag. It's a perfect quart-sized container. If you need a larger quantity, the Madesco also has a 5-gallon option.
What kind of coffee would you like to use?
You don't need special coffee to make cold coffee. Use your usual favorite coffee. Some bakers are making a special mixture of cold beer and iced coffee. Usually they tend to be lightly roasted. They also often mix African coffee with fruit notes and Central American coffee and chocolate notes. But again, any coffee you already like will work.
Reusable cold beer coffee filter bag
A quart glass jar you can be a little bigger, just add more coffee.
1 cup coffee beans. Be sure to grind them up before adding them to the bag.
# 1 grind coffee and add to the bag
Add a cup of ground coffee to the cold brewing bag. Some brewing recipes say they use rough ground, while others say they use medium area. Two jobs. Madesco recommends medium training in the instructions, so I use medium. Cold-squeezing is super forgiveness.
Add the ground coffee to a cold brewing bag.
# 2 put the bag in the bottle and add water
Place the bottom of the cold bubble bag into the bottom of the glass bottle. Don't close the bag strap. Slowly add cold water. Add enough water to fill the jar. Do not pour water quickly, or the coffee may float and leave the bag.
Close the bag and seal the lid
Pull the rope. Push the bag into the bottle and close the bottle. I keep the rope out of the jar and keep it dry, but you don't have to.
The lid is closed and the strap is outside the jar. If you keep the rope outside the jar, please put the plate or plate under the bottle, because a small cup of coffee will be drained from the string and placed on your jar.
# 4 allow curry for more than 12 hours
You can have a cold beer in the fridge and sit on the counter overnight. I use the counter for your steep coffee depending on how long you use most cold brewing recipes in the 12-24 hour range. The steeper the thicker, the thicker the brew will become. So it all comes down to personal preferences. The brewing of my coffee bag all falls into the range of 12-16 hours.
# 5 take out the bag and put the coffee concentrate in the refrigerator
Slowly take out the small bag and put all the coffee into the bottle. Seal the bottle and put it in the refrigerator. Concentrate completed.
# 6 Quick cleanup
Put the ground in the pouch into a composting container or your garden. Turn the filter inward and flush the pouch. Then hang it somewhere to dry, so it's ready for the next brew.
# 7 Service Coffee concentrate
This is where cold beer is fun. You can decide the intensity you like according to your personal preference. I tried to add a cup filled with concentrate from 2max 3 and a cup with 3 water from 1max. You can cool it or heat it on the stove or microwave. You can also use cold beer concentrate to mix iced coffee drinks and coffee Martin.
Proportional word
The standard recommendation for weighing concentrates in cold brewing is to use a brewing ratio of 4 to 1. This is four parts of water to one part of coffee. This is significantly stronger than hot brewed coffee, which usually ranges from 15 to 17 to 1. But keep in mind that this is also a focus, so you will dilute the coffee with water and / or ice during service.
The last words
Cold brewing is really that simple. Cold coffee is not rocket science.
