Congo DR Congo Kavisa Cooperative Kavisa Coop. It is a cooperative set up by Virunga Coffee, which brings together coffee farmers on the west bank of Lake Keefe Kivu Lake. Virunga provides the best training in farming techniques to help coffee farmers obtain organic certification and improve coffee quality. this batch is the winning batch of the harvest taste competition Taste of Harvest, and Taste of Harvest is organized by African Fine Coffee Association, AFCA African boutique coffee association.
AFCA consists of seven countries: Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia and DR Congo. The competition is to find the highest quality coffee. The coffee is evaluated according to the cup test standard of the American Fine Coffee Association (SCAA). It is decided by national and international judges after several rounds of cup evaluation. Only coffee with a score of more than 82 points can be won and qualified for international bidding. The purpose of the competition is to make excellent coffee sell at a higher price, make coffee farmers have more income, and make coffee farmers willing to invest in updated equipment, so as to improve the quality of coffee.
This batch of coffee is planted at an altitude of 1600m above sea level. It revolves around Lake Keefe in eastern Congo. The dry aromas are nutty oil, brown sugar and cream sweet, wet aromas of plum, sweet and sour black currant and sweet black sugar, full and balanced sour and sweet taste, smooth fat, red meat plum, mulberry and blackcurrant, etc. There are some pineapple acidity when the coffee is cool, and a hint of vanilla and black tea in finish.
