Brazil Dona Nenem pulped natural

Winner of the Brazilian Boutique Association BSCA competition for three consecutive years

The owner of Fazenda Dona Nenem is Eduardo Pinheiro Campos, whose family has grown coffee in Sul de Minas for a long time. After inheriting his father's farmland, Eduardo named the estate after his mother Dona. The farm opened in 1977 and was the first coffee farm near Patos de Minasto. Eduardo recognized the importance of environmental protection early on, although the concept of certification had not yet been introduced to Brazil, he said: "Nature always comes first!" The estate has gone far beyond Brazil's coffee environmental regulations, replanting native trees and shrubs, and preserving about 450 acres of beautiful Cerrado woodland.

In addition to coffee, the farm grows other food crops and raises cattle. In order to cope with the environmental impact caused by livestock, facilities for protecting clean water sources were established along the river banks to effectively conserve the nature and rich vegetation of the Xilado area. It has its own nursery and can replant 10% of coffee trees every year. Eduardo now operates two estates, in addition to Donna, Sao Joao Grande, where only 228 hectares of coffee are actually grown, averaging about 1050 meters above sea level. Donna is a high-tech farm where harvesting is done manually and by machines that can identify fully ripe coffee cherries.

Electronic screening machine can identify green bean defects that cannot be seen by human eyes, automatically measure size and density, and quickly screen. After the drying process, the fully automated dryer runs 24 hours a day and detects the moisture content at any time. The final product is coffee of extremely stable quality, which has won many international awards. This coffee treatment method uses Pulped Natural, which is commonly used in fine farms. After the ripe coffee cherries are removed from the peel and pulp, some pulp mucus remains on the outside of the fruit and is dried. Excellent sun removal process produces clean, mild acidity and distinctive sweetness.
