Lerida Manor was founded in 1922 by Tollef B.Monniche, a Norwegian engineer of the Panama Canal, who used his expertise to invent the unique dry-wet integrated treatment plant at that time, as well as the "sifon" siphon coffee fruit treatment system (separating the floating beans from the insufficient density in the washing tank, this machine is now widely used in coffee producing areas all over the world) and patented. The manor is located in the Baru Volcano area of Boquete, with an elevation of more than 1600 meters. The special microclimate, abundant rainfall of 2000mm, and the temperature difference between morning and evening are large enough. Coupled with the volcanic soil full of nutrients, delicate harvest time planning, rigorous washing and fermentation monitoring and natural sun control, the coffee produced here is excellent in thickness and acidity. The manor has a deep tradition of growing boutique coffee, and its history can be traced back to 1929, when Lerida exported the first batch of coffee beans to Germany, which received high praise and appreciation.

Lerida is not only a well-known boutique manor, but also a famous ecological leisure hotel, this income mix allows the farm to focus on maintaining the rich biodiversity of the estate and protecting the exuberant pristine rainforest around the farm. There are more than 500 different species of birds in the rainforest, which also makes bird watching a major feature. International famous ecologists and bird experts often come to this manor for accommodation and research!
