Shanmiao processing Plant is a private processing plant located in the village of Guobota in the Yegashifi producing area. About 600 family members of small coffee farmers nearby form a group to send their red fruit coffee to this treatment plant for processing. As the whole village has accepted part of the Dutch red cherry project OCR, the whole planting production is under the guidance and control of appointed professional managers to provide guidance and advice on the harvest, production and other procedures, so as to increase production and improve quality.
* the Red Cherry Project (Operation Cherry Red) is an EU project proposed by the Dutch government to encourage Ethiopian coffee farmers to produce better quality coffee beans. The project was led by Trabocca BV, the largest raw bean manufacturer in the Netherlands, and funded in part by the Dutch government to provide financial loans to support new hardware equipment and production processing knowledge to assist farmers.
