Donations from more than 20 coffee-related companies helped raise more than $30,000 at the Fountain of Health auction.

In addition to providing high-quality specialty coffee, equipment and some commercial services to interested buyers, the auction ended up with cervical cancer screening and prevention programs for the Vermont-based non-profit organization.

The June 12 auction marked the 11th year of the healthy Land auction program, which relies mainly on donations from green coffee importers. Although some small buyers have made incredible deals on a variety of coffees around the world, they have single-handedly broken the record for GFH auctions.

After 106 bids, a French company called Lhasa coffee 39 was paid $151.10 per pound for 26.5 pounds of coffee donated by Colombian producer Hacienda El Roble. Coffee is a certified organic and bird-friendly variety, called HR-61,Hacienda El Roble, which is unique to Santander Manor. The HR-61 donated by the producer broke GFH's previous auction record last year with a top bid of $120.05 a pound.

The second most expensive coffee at this year's auction is the "aerobic impregnation" process donated by the Brazilian producer organization Daterra. Wisconsin home roasting supplier Home Bake submitted the highest bid of $19.01 per pound. Daterra was also named the top donor at the auction, raising a total of $5232.36, including five donations.
