Burka Gudina Farm

The coffee comes from Burka Gudina Farm, which is located in the Jimma region of the western highlands of Oromia, Ethiopia. The farm is located in Limmu Kossa Woreda, with fertile soil and coffee trees growing entirely in the shade without any mechanical equipment. About 26554 hectares of coffee trees are planted in Limmu Kossa Woreda, with about 260000 residents. The temperature is between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius (day and night), and the month with the heaviest rainfall is from March to October.

Coffee is harvested during the dry season, when the monthly rainfall does not exceed 50mm. So, from November to January, red cherries are picked. People in this area have a long tradition of drinking coffee. The Oromo people used and still use a typical method of making it: Buna Qulaa, a coffee brewed with butter, different spices and salt.
