La Lucuma

In 1997, I discovered a new coffee variety "LA LUCUMA" on my farm. At first, I didn't pay much attention to it, because at first it seemed to be a common coffee plant. In 2011, my entire plantation was hit by a disease commonly known as "OJO DE POLLO". Only these new varieties survived and were actually resistant to the disease. From then on, I began to grow only what we call "shells". Oddly enough, I didn't notice that I had given up a big opportunity to take part in the Excellence Award competition.
