El Encino
Our coffee has its roots in the Tarazu region and the Zamora Picado family's 40 years of heritage and experience in coffee growing.
In 2014, our family started a coffee processing business, and La Cruz de Tarrazu micromill was born. La Cruz, as buyers call us, represents passion and effort in producing and processing coffee, our main goal being to make our coffee enjoyable for those who appreciate its quality and social responsibility.
We are a family of five working together in a sustainable event.
El Encino is a farm in Tarrazu, founded 35 years ago by the Zamora family. The whole area is planted with Catuai varieties, in the shade of avocado and nightshade trees.
Shade and weather make coffee cherries ripen and perfect in quality.
For this shipment, we observed that the quality of coffee cherries was very good, and then we decided to deal with this shipment in a natural way. This shipment ranked 13th on the Excellence Award. During the drying process, coffee is carefully dried directly in the sun for about 26 days."
