The mocha pot, also known as the steaming coffee pot, is a method that uses the pressure generated by boiling water to help make coffee. It originated in Italy and was invented by Alfonso Biloti (Alfanso Bialetti).

In 1919, Alfonso Biloti saw the idea of a structure that could be used to make coffee in a washing machine used by local women. At that time, there was a metal tube in the middle of the washing machine, which sucked up the heated soapy water from the bottom of the washing machine and sprayed it on the clothes. Alfonso Biloti was inspired to make the world's first home coffee pot that extracts coffee under steam pressure, allowing people to brew coffee like a cafe at home. In 1946, Alfonso's son Renato took over and narrowed the product line to a single product: the classic mocha pot moka express. In 1953, a Bialetti logo was created in the image of his son Renato, with a cartoon mustache man pointing his fingers up as if he were ordering a cup of coffee as a company logo. This is the little doll printed on all the mocha pots later. The original sketches and logos were created in 1953 by Paul Campani. By 2001, 2.2 million sets of mocha pots have been produced, and so far the number of mocha pots has reached 200 million.

The coffee pot is divided into two parts, which are connected by a catheter in the middle. The following is used to hold water. When the bottom of the coffee pot is heated to boiling, the water is converted into water vapor and the pressure on the water surface increases. So the hot water enters from the catheter to the part where the ground coffee is held. After being filtered by the filter, it enters the upper part, and then it is ready to drink. The coffee powder used in the mocha pot is generally ground finely, and the coffee brewed out is stronger than the ordinary dripping coffee.

The original mocha pot was made of aluminum, but today's mocha pot is mostly made of stainless steel and can be heated by open fire or induction cooker.
