Last Updated: 2024/09/17, 2014 is a stage of competitive development for the coffee industry. Under the impact of many coffee brands, are you ready to enter the coffee industry?

From the market point of view, the annual growth rate of the Chinese coffee consumption market is about 15%, while the annual growth rate of the international market is only 2%. Relevant experts predict that within 10 years, China's coffee consumption market is expected to reach 1 trillion yuan. By 2030, China's coffee consumption market may reach 2-3 trillion yuan. The mature Chinese coffee consumption market should be 3-4 trillion yuan.

On the supply side, coffee beans, sugar, caffeine, and even labor and commercial real estate rents for coffee production have risen across the board. Under the high cost, the brand chain coffee shops in the coastal areas began to expand to the second-and third-tier cities in the central and western regions in order to improve the economies of scale. At the same time, coffee shop chains in the central and western regions are also racing to protect themselves.

On the demand side, China's coffee consumption and production are still quite low. According to industry sources, China's annual coffee consumption is about 30-35000 tons, with an annual output of 40-45000 tons, while the global annual output is 9 million-10 million tons. Ji Ming, head of the Beijing Coffee Association, said: "at present, China's coffee consumption is an average of 3 cups per person per year, while the world average is 240 cups, so there is still a lot of room for improvement."

From a regional point of view, the coffee chain industry is obviously regional, with more in the east and less in the west, mainly due to the relatively developed economy in the east, the rapid process of urbanization and the strong purchasing power of consumers. its overall regional environment is more suitable for the development of coffee chain industry. Due to the relatively backward economy and the limited consumption capacity of residents in the western region, the scale and number of enterprises in the coffee chain industry are significantly different from those in the east. However, with the rapid rise of the economy in western China, the gap between the east and the west continues to narrow, and the regional differences in the coffee industry will gradually disappear.
