Starbucks, full of technology, rushed into the press and publishing industry.

Recently, the coffee shop added a new feature to App: reading newspapers. According to Wired, Starbucks has announced a partnership agreement with the New York Times so that Starbucks members will be able to view the latest news and selected articles provided by the New York Times on Starbucks' App for free from the beginning of next year.

Previously, on the Starbucks mobile app in the United States, you could directly call a Uber chauffeured car to take you to the nearest Starbucks; you could use the app's built-in mobile payment function to pay; and if you didn't want to go out, you could order a cup of coffee through their app and ask them to deliver it. Now the addition of new features allows you to open a news article with coffee when you open the Starbucks mobile app.

In fact, Starbucks has been selling newspapers in the store since a long time ago. Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz says Starbucks has sold millions of newspapers in its stores over the past decade. For him, it was an attempt to extend Starbucks' past accumulation:

"We see a future that seamlessly extends Starbucks' retail experience to the mobile devices that everyone carries every day."

In addition to reading free content, Starbucks members who pay for subscriptions can earn points in exchange for coffee and pastries in the Starbucks store.

Of course, the New York Times won't be the only media to log on to the Starbucks mobile app. In the future, Starbucks will continue to cooperate with other media. Starbucks' mobile app will become more and more like a news reader in the future.

Perhaps adding news media content to your client-and even the client of a coffee shop-seems irrelevant or even slightly funny. But don't forget that Starbucks' mobile app is a large platform with 13 million users in the United States, which is well worth considering for the media.

And as people open more and more Starbucks apps to watch the news, the chances of buying a cup of coffee through it will naturally increase.

Combined with the series of Starbucks services we introduced earlier, you can imagine a scenario like this at Starbucks in the United States:

After watching the news pushed by Starbucks, call a Uber chauffeured car to Starbucks, first place an order for coffee through the Order Ahead function, then come to Starbucks with your cup of coffee, listen to the music they and Spotify push for you, and then use the Powermat wireless charging ring to charge your phone.

Well, after daydreaming, I am more concerned about when to go to the Starbucks opposite the company without having to wait so long.

The picture comes from the idea of station cool Hailuo.
